English Summary:

Drama-documentary about the Samurai general Tokugawa Ieyasu, a towering figure of Japanese history. He overthrew the governing dynasty of Japan and became the Shogun - the supreme military leader - of Japan. Ieyasu's rise to power climaxes in the biggest Samurai battle in history, with 160,000 soldiers fighting for the future of Japan. On the way, there is a story of love for a reckless son, a politician in drag, a night time Ninja attack, suicide and betrayal.

Tokugawa Ieyashu Japán történelmének legnagyobb szamuráj tábornoka. Ő volt az, aki letaszította az uralkodó dinasztiát a trónjáról és ezáltal japán shógunja, vagyis legfelsőbb katonai vezetője lett. Sikereinek értéke Ceasar és Napoleon hódításaival volt egyenértékű. Vakmerő és bátor vezetőként megalapított egy dinasztiát aminek tagjai több mint 250 évig uralkodtak, de hatása a mai napig érezhető. Shogun (将軍, shōgun) was the title of the military dictators of Japan during most of the period spanning from 1185 to 1868. Nominally appointed by the Emperor, shoguns were usually the de facto rulers of the country, though during part of the Kamakura period shoguns were themselves figureheads. The office of shogun was in practice hereditary, though over the course of the history of Japan several different clans held the position. Shogun is the short form of Sei-i Taishōgun (征夷大将軍, "Commander-in-Chief of the Expeditionary Force Against the Barbarians"), a high military title from the early Heian period in the 8th and 9th centuries; when Minamoto no Yoritomo gained political ascendency over Japan in 1185, the title was revived to regularize his position, making him the first shogun in the usually understood sense.
