TUTTO VERDI - this edition to mark the Verdi bicentenary sets standards by which all similar projects will be judged. It includes all twenty-six operas by the greatest Italian stage composer, together with his immortal Requiem, all of them in definitive performances.

"THIS IS HOW VERDI SHOULD BE PLAYED" - Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on TUTTO VERDI

Based on a Romantic tragedy by Zacharias Werner, Attila is set in the 5th century AD. The opera takes as its starting point Attila's plans to storm Rome with his army of Huns and the Romans' attempts to prevent him. As with Nabucco and I Lombardi, Verdi spiced up the action with a number of patriotic choruses, guaranteeing that against the background of the Italian movement for unification- the opera was a great success.

Perhaps Verdi's rarest opera, "Alzira," video of a concert-style performance, with three Japanese performers and Japanese subtitles! Verdi's "Alzira" is an opera first performed in Naples in 1845. Based on Voltaire's original work of the same title, this ambitious opera depicts the conflict and love between natives and invaders in Peru. However, it is one of the least frequently performed of all Verdi's operas, and it was not until 1983 that it was recorded for vinyl (ORFEO 057832). The recording was made live at the Alto Adige Festival in Dobbiaco (German name: Toblach) in South Tyrol, northernmost Italy, on September 13 and 15, 2012. Three Japanese performers are in the cast. Junko Saito, in the title role, is a soprano who completed her studies at Tokyo University of the Arts and its graduate school, and is currently active in Europe. Atariba's Hirano Kazu is a bass-baritone born in Tokyo in 1977.After graduating from Nihon University College of Art, she studied in Vienna. He was a member of the Graz Opera, then the Vienna Volksoper, and in recent years has also been active in Japan. Yuzuru Tsuchizaki, Otumbo, is a tenor from Oita Prefecture. He graduated from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and its graduate school. He studied in Vienna. He has been active in Japan and Europe. Gusmano's Thomas Gazelli is a German baritone. In recent years, he has been increasingly active as a baritone for Wagner, including Alberich. Francesco Facini of Alvaro is a bass from Lucca, Italy. He is a masterful singer with a fairly wide repertoire. The conductor is Gustav Kuhn, artistic director of the Bolzano Trento Haydn Orchestra. Kuhn, who is a great believer in nurturing young singers, has put a lot of effort into this performance, and it is a team effort. Thankfully, Japanese subtitles are included. King International
