English Summary:
Unbreakable is a 2000 American superhero thriller film written, produced, and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, and starring Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Robin Wright, Spencer Treat Clark, and Charlayne Woodard. It is the first installment in the Unbreakable film series a.k.a. Eastrail 177 Trilogy. In Unbreakable, a security guard named David Dunn (Willis) survives a horrific train crash with no injuries, leading to him discovering that he harnesses superhuman abilities, which in turn introduces him to comic book store owner Elijah Price (Jackson), who is confined to a wheelchair.
In Philadelphia 1961, Elijah Price is born with Type I osteogenesis imperfecta, a rare disease that renders sufferers' bones extremely fragile and prone to fracture. Elijah grows up to become a comic-book art dealer and develops a theory based on the comics he has read during childhood that if he represents extreme human frailty, there must be someone "unbreakable" at the opposite extreme.
In the present, David Dunn, a former star football quarterback turned security guard who lives with his wife Audrey and their young son Joseph, takes a train home from a job interview in New York City. The train crashes, killing the other 131 passengers. He is declared the only survivor, sustaining no injuries. At the crash victims' memorial service, he finds an invitation on his car's windshield to Elijah's art gallery Limited Edition, asking if he has ever been ill. David confirms with his wife and his workplace that he never has been ill, and now curious, he goes with Joseph to meet Elijah. Elijah proposes to David his childhood theory of real-life superheroes, at which point David becomes unsettled and leaves the store. However, David becomes curious of his powers and begins weight lifting with Joseph by bench pressing about 350 pounds, well above what he initially thought he could do. Joseph begins to idolize his father and believe that he is a superhero, although David still maintains that he is just "an ordinary man".
Hungarian Summary:
Egyetlen túlélőként átvészelni egy szörnyű vasúti katasztrófát: ritka szerencse. Még számtalan súlyos balesetet sértetlenül megúszni egyetlen sérülés, sőt egyetlen karcolás nélkül: lehetetlen. David Dunn életben marad ott, ahol mindenki meghal.
