English Summary:
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is a 2011 Cold War spy thriller film directed by Tomas Alfredson. The screenplay was written by Bridget O'Connor and Peter Straughan, based on John le Carré's 1974 novel of the same name. The film, starring Gary Oldman as George Smiley, along with Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, John Hurt, Toby Jones, Mark Strong, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Ciarán Hinds, and featuring David Dencik, is set in London in the early 1970s and follows the hunt for a Soviet double agent at the top of the British secret service.
In 1973, "Control", head of British intelligence (referred to as "The Circus"), sends agent Jim Prideaux (Mark Strong) to Budapest to meet a Hungarian Army general wishing to defect. The general, explains Control, has the name of a mole that the Russians have planted in the British Intelligence Service, "right at the top". The meeting turns out to be a trap by Hungarian agents planning to capture Prideaux. Prideaux tries to get away, but is shot.
Following the botched assignment, Control is forced out of the Service. He announces that he and his right-hand man, George Smiley (Gary Oldman) will be retiring. Control dies shortly thereafter.
Percy Alleline (Toby Jones) becomes the new Chief, Bill Haydon (Colin Firth) his deputy, and Roy Bland (Ciarán Hinds) and Toby Esterhase (David Dencik) his lieutenants. Alleline and Bland meet with Cabinet Office adviser Oliver Lacon (Simon McBurney) to request budget approval for an operation, code-named "Witchcraft", to obtain highly sensitive information from the Soviet Union. The operation requires a safe house in London in order to protect the identity of the Soviet source. Lacon explains that Prideaux's botched operation in Budapest was a disaster, and further that relations with the CIA are strained because, in their eyes, the British service "is still a leaky ship."
Hungarian Summary:
A hajdani kémet, az elképesztő intelligenciájú George Smiley-t visszahívják az angol hírszerzéshez. Úgy tűnik, kettős ügynök, ún. vakond vette be magát a Körönd kódnevű székhelyük falai közé.
