According to Christian doctrine, God exists in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Our story is about God's Son, Jesus. Thousands of years ago, prophets foretold God’s coming into the world. Since God is a spirit, unseen by the human eye, He assumed a human form like you and me. When the appointed time arrived, an angel named Gabriel descended from heaven and appeared to a fifteen-year-old Hebrew girl named Mary from Nazareth, announcing that she would become the mother of Jesus.
