Overview

"The Persuaders!" is an action/adventure/comedy series featuring Tony Curtis and Roger Moore, produced by ITC Entertainment and originally broadcast on ITV and ABC in 1971. The show is known as "the last major entry in the cycle of adventure series" that began with Danger Man in 1960 and is recognized as "the most ambitious and most expensive" of Sir Lew Grade's international action adventure series.

Danny Wilde (Tony Curtis) is a rough diamond from the slums of New York City, who escaped his tough upbringing by enlisting in the US Navy. Curtis, who was 46 at the time, performed all his own stunts and fight sequences in the series.

Lord Brett Rupert George Robert Andrew Sinclair (Roger Moore) is a polished British nobleman, educated at Harrow and Oxford, a former British Army officer, and an ex-racing car driver. He refers to his colleague as "Daniel."

The two men meet on holiday in the French Riviera, initially disliking each other and causing chaos in a hotel bar during a fist-fight. They are arrested and brought before retired Judge Fulton (Laurence Naismith), who offers them the choice of spending 90 days in jail or helping him rectify some errors of impunity. Reluctantly, Wilde and Sinclair agree to assist Fulton in solving a case, leading to a series of thrilling adventures.

As the series progresses, the two develop a begrudging affection for each other and frequently find themselves in various escapades, sometimes by chance or on commission from Judge Fulton. The judge often finds creative ways to convince Wilde and Sinclair to act on his behalf.
