In Yunnan, southwestern China, there lives an ancient tribe, called the Sani. Formerly, they were called Lolo, meaning the uncivilized. In 1887, a French missionary, Fr. Paul Vial (MEP) encountered these rugged and simple Lolo people. For Fr. Vial, they were the People of God. He dedicated his lifelong effort preaching to the Lolo, changing the destiny of the tribe.
