English Summary:
The Flintstones is an American animated sitcom produced by Hanna-Barbera for ABC. The series takes place in a romanticized Stone Age setting, and follows the activities of the titular family, the Flintstones, and their next-door neighbors, the Rubbles (who are their best friends). It was originally broadcast from September 30, 1960 until April 1, 1966, in a prime time slot, the first such instance for an animated series.
Episodes on DVD:
"Fred Meets Hercurock"
Fred is recruited to play Hercurock in a new movie.
Note: Michael Road (voice of Race Bannon on "Jonny Quest") voices GoGo Ravine, a spoof of flamboyant movie producer Joseph E. Levine, producer of dubbed Hercules films. The script takes jabs at "instant" star-making and low-budget/high return films.
"Surfin' Fred"
The Flintstones and Rubbles travel to Rock Island beach when there is a big surfing contest judged by singer/actor Jimmy Darrock (special guest star James Darren). Fred and Wilma decide to enter the surfing contest, even though Fred can't surf.
Note: Two re-recorded versions of songs from The Fantastic Baggys' 1964 album, "Tell 'Em I'm Surfin'", are featured on the soundtrack ("Wax Up Your Boards" and "Surfin' Craze") by Steve Barri and P.F. Sloan.
