VH1 Storytellers - The Doors: A Celebration is a tribute DVD to Jim Morrison 's group , featuring artists such as Perry Farrell , Ian Astbury , Scott Stapp , etc. which pay homage to the music of the Doors on the thirtieth anniversary of the death of their leader.
The Doors were an American rock band founded in Venice Beach in 1965 by Jim Morrison ( singer ), Robby Krieger ( guitarist ), Ray Manzarek ( organist ) and John Densmore ( drummer ), and dissolved definitively in 1973 , two years after Jim Morrison's death (on July 3, 1971), although there have been several reunions in the following years.
They are considered one of the most influential and controversial rock groups in the history of music, to which they have successfully combined elements of blues , psychedelia and jazz. Many of their songs, such as Light My Fire , The End , Roadhouse Blues and Riders on the Storm , are considered classics and have been reinterpreted by numerous artists of subsequent generations.
