From the Back Cover:
For many years Michael Browne has served the Lord in countries across the world. His forthright. faithful teaching of the Scriptures is widely appre ciated amongst those who love the Lord, and in turning his attention to the subject of this book he provides instruction on a doctrine that is greatly misunderstood by many Christians.
In contemplating the great truths set out in this book, the reader will perhaps experience the natural urge to set reason above revelation and prejudice against principle. To the heart and mind that submit to the authority of the Word of God, however, this teaching will prove a source of tremendous blessing as something of God's infinite goodness and majestic sovereignty in redemption dawns upon the soul.
Sample of the Foreword:
The Apostle Paul rejoiced in the superlative character of the 'new covenant'. It was 'the ministration of the Spirit', as opposed to 'the ministration of death': it was 'the ministration of righteousness', as opposed to 'the minis- tration of condemnation', 2 Cor 3:7-9. The 'new covenant' is, of course, the Gospel message, and Paul continues, "Therefore, seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not" 4:1. Gale-force adversity could not stop him preach- ing 'the gospel of the grace of God'. He would have been able to sing heartily, "tis the grandest theme through the ages rung'. May the message of the Gospel continue to evoke similar enthusiasm within us all!
