English Summary:

Subway is a 1985 French thriller filmdirected by Luc Besson and starring Isabelle Adjani and Christopher Lambert. The film is classified as part of the cinema du look movement.

Having stolen some compromising documents from a powerful and successful entrepreneur/gangster at a party, a man known as Fred escapes from the police and takes refuge in the underground world of the Paris Métro stations and tunnels. There he joins the dwellers and befriends several colourful characters, including others who are living under the subway to avoid police arrest. While the gangster's henchmen try to find Fred, he develops a romance with the gangster's young trophy wife, Héléna. She had originally invited Fred to the party featured at the opening of the film, and is bored with her gilded-caged life.

Après avoir dérobé des documents compromettants, un homme, Fred, se réfugie dans le métro parisien. Au sein de cet univers fascinant et agité, une impitoyable chasse à l'homme s'organise. D'étranges liens se tissent entre le cambrioleur et la femme de sa victime, Héléna.

Au-delà de l'histoire de vol de documents et de chantage, Subway est aussi une plongée dans le monde de la marginalité et de la culture punk. Fred parcourt les sous-sols du métro et découvre sa « faune » nocturne. Au détour des couloirs, il rencontre aussi des musiciens, chacun dans leur coin. Il décide de les réunir et de les inciter à former un groupe.

Fred vendéglátója, Helena páncélszekrényébe nyúl: pénzt lop, és az asszony férjének értékes iratait magához veszi. Üldözői elől a párizsi metró furcsa alagútrendszerébe menekül, ahol sajátos, és önálló társadalom létezik, amely fittyet hány a kül- és felvilág törvényeinek és szokásainak. Fred tárgyalni kezd Helenával az iratok visszaadásáról, s közben beleszeret az asszonyba. Az ügy azonban rosszul végződik.
