English Summary:

The Star Wars Trilogy, often colloquially referred to as the original trilogy or the classic trilogy, is the first set of three films produced in the Star Wars franchise, an American space opera created by George Lucas. It was produced by Lucasfilm and distributed by 20th Century Fox, and consists of the original Star Wars film (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983). The films follow the archetypical hero's journey of Luke Skywalker in his quest to become a Jedi and defeat the evil Empire. It serves as the second act of the "Skywalker saga".

The original trilogy was followed by a prequel trilogy between 1999 and 2005, and a sequel trilogy between 2015 and 2019. Collectively, they have been referred to as the "Skywalker saga" to distinguish them from spin-off films set within the same universe.

Hungarian Summary:

A Star Wars IV: Egy új remény (eredeti cím: Star Wars, később: Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope) 1977-ben bemutatott egész estés amerikai film, amelynek címe az eredeti Csillagok háborúja című film retronim elnevezése.

A Star Wars V: A Birodalom visszavág (eredeti cím: Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, eredeti magyar cím: A Birodalom visszavág, eredeti angol cím: The Empire Strikes Back) 1980-ban bemutatott egész estés amerikai film, amely Irvin Kershner rendezésében jelent meg.

A Star Wars VI: A Jedi visszatér (eredeti cím: Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi) 1983-ban bemutatott egész estés amerikai film, amelyet Richard Marquand rendezett. A forgatókönyvet George Lucas és Lawrence Kasdan írta. A Csillagok háborúja-sorozat harmadikként kiadott epizódja, a film története szerint ez a befejező rész. A filmtörténelem első filmje, amely a THX rendszerben bemutatásra került.
