English Summary:

Empire of Dreams: The Story of the Star Wars Trilogy is a documentary by Kevin Burns about the making of the three original Star Wars films: A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. It is strictly chronological, divided into three parts, one for each film. It is narrated by Robert Clotworthy, and features interviews with George Lucas and major cast and crew. It tries to put Star Wars into a sociological and political perspective by using interviews with spectators.

The Birth of the Lightsaber was a featurette in the bonus material of 2004 DVD release of the Star Wars original trilogy. It revealed how the lightsaber was made, from tape to rotoscoping. It was also included in the Star Wars: Bonus Lightsaber Action DVD, which included two chapters of Star Wars: Clone Wars.

The Force Is with Them: The Legacy of Star Wars is a featurette produced by Gary Leva that was included in the 2004 DVD box set of the Star Wars Original Trilogy. It explained the cultural impact Star Wars had on the world and how it changed the lives of the actors involved.

Additional Content on disc:

The movies on the DVDs were based on the 1997 Special Edition versions, including additional changes and revisions.

In addition to an extensive and comprehensive high-definition restoration and remaster job by Lowry Digital, several adjustments were made in order to make the films consistent with the prequel trilogy. For this release, Lucasfilm created new high-definition masters of the three films.
