Interesting
Louis Spohr, born Ludewig Spohr, was a highly regarded composer, violinist, and conductor during his lifetime. He composed ten symphonies, ten operas, eighteen violin concerti, four clarinet concerti, four oratorios, and various works for small ensemble, chamber music, and art songs. Spohr also invented the violin chinrest and the orchestral rehearsal mark. His music, which spans the transition between Classical and Romantic periods, fell into obscurity after his death but saw a modest revival in the late twentieth century, primarily in Europe.
