A történet Párizsban játszódik, tavasszal. 28 nap alatt a párizsi időjárás éppolyan szeszélyes és változékony, akár a film női hősei. Szakítás, virágzó románc, betegség, barátság és szex - mind hozzátartoznak egy teljes élethez, ezek a talpraesett nők pedig minden szituációból humorral vágják ki magukat. Mindegyik karakter különbözik a többiektől, egy közös tűzijátéknézés hozza össze őket. A látványos esemény pedig a felszabadultságuk és kirobbanó, ragyogó humoruk jelképe is egyben. A tűzijáték jelképezi a mai nők gyorsan változó, meglepő átalakulását.
