Overview

Some Like It Hot (1959), directed by Billy Wilder, is often hailed as one of the greatest comedies in American cinema. The film stars Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon in a hilarious farce about two musicians who disguise themselves as women to escape a mob. Set in the Prohibition era, Curtis and Lemmon’s characters witness a gangland murder and must flee Chicago, joining an all-female jazz band on their way to Florida. Hilarity ensues as Monroe’s character, a sultry singer, falls for Curtis’ disguised “Josephine,” while Lemmon’s “Daphne” finds himself the object of an aging millionaire’s affections.

Nominated for six Academy Awards and winner of Best Costume Design, this DVD release preserves the charm of Wilder’s classic in stunning black and white. With unforgettable performances and timeless humor, Some Like It Hot continues to enchant audiences of all ages.
