UPC 801213904990
Playtime is 59 Minutes
Founded in 1967, the MONTREUX JAZZ FESTIVAL has established itself as one of the most prestigious annual music events in the world. The extraordinary list of artists who have played there is drawn from across the musical spectrum and from around the world. Now, with the consent of the festival and the artists, Eagle Vision is making these concerts available on DVD for the first time.
After his split from The Pogues in 1991, Shane MacGowan came back stronger than ever in 1995 with his new band The Popes and their first album The Snake. During the tour in support of this album they stopped off at the Montreux Jazz Festival for what is, so far, his only performance there. The concert combines tracks from the Snake album, such as Nancy Whiskey and Bring Down The Lamp, with Pogues classics such as // I Should Fall From Grace With God, A Pair Of Brown Eyes and The Irish Rover. When Shane and The Popes are in town, every night's a party.
