About the Author: The author, Rev. Fr. John Rooney, is a Catholic priest and a Mill Hill Father, with missionary experience in Malaysia, Kenya and Pakistan. A life student of history, only recently he took up the subject as one of his main interests. In 1981, he published a major study of the history of the Catholic Church in East Malaysian Borneo and Brunei. Fr. Rooney is general editor of the PCH.
