Carlos Santana has been a frequent visitor to the Montreux Festival. On 15 July 2004 he took to the stage accompanied by a stunning line-up of guests to perform a spectacular and historic concert of songs about peace and understanding that was called "Hymns For Peace". Joining the regular Santana band were Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Ravi Coltrane and Idrissa Diop with further guest appearances through the night from Angélique Kidjo, Barbara Morrison, Patti Austin, Sylver Sharp, Steve Winwood and Nile Rodgers.
