These televised records from 1962 and 1963 which show the beginnings of Nureyev on American television, are of great interest. These four Pas de Deux demonstrate the brilliant technique of the Russian school, and the dancer’s first foray into Bournonville’s style. The juxtaposition with the recordings from 1961 to 1967 of Erik Bruhn allows the appreciation of the difference of style and school of two, great dancers from the twentieth century.
