In Roman mythology and religion, Quirinus (/kwɪˈraɪnəs/ kwi-RY-nəs, Latin: [kᶣɪˈriːnʊs]) is an early god of the Roman state. In Augustan Rome, Quirinus was also an epithet of Janus, as Janus Quirinus.
