Overview

Psyché I-III, directed by Bódy Gábor, is a visually stunning and mythically-inspired work based on the verse narrative of Weöres Sándor. The film represents a fantastic, heroic, and bioradical vision, telling the story of a mythical time-travel adventure. Set within a postmodern framework, it traces the spiritual history of the 18th to the 20th century, interweaving the fates of key historical and fictional figures. The film connects the tragic love story between 18th-century gypsy countess Lónyay Erzsébet and the narcissistic Ungvárnémeti Tóth László, as well as the fantastical life of Zedlitz Baron. As the film unfolds, Bódy paints a portrait of intellectual evolution from the Age of Enlightenment to the 1920s.
