This fascinating film, newly available on DVD, explores many aspects of the life and career of Maria Callas, one of the greatest opera divas of all time, a legend in her own lifetime and a unique artist who, since her tragically early death in 1977, has achieved the status of an iconic figure.

A rare glimpse of a truly enigmatic artist. Maria Callas is the greatest opera singer the world has ever known, and this fascinating DVD provides new insights into both Callas the performer and Maria the woman. Includes rare interview footage of Callas's teacher, Elvira de Hidalgo, her long-time recording producer Michel Glotz, and film and stage producer Luchino Visconti. The most revealing material comes from interviews with Callas herself.
