Conversion is "a radical change, a transformation, a turning around, ...a conscious act, not an event passively experienced. For the Christian, the changed life of the converted is the outward expressionof a changed heart" (from The New International Dictionary of the Christian Church). As a sequel to his previous book, Forty Fascinating Conversion Stories, Samuel Fisk once again presents the personal,life-changing experiences behind the definition. For many of the persons presented in this volume, conversion was only the beginning of many years of dedicated Christian service and, for some, widespread fame and recognition by their contemporaries. The focus of More Fascinating Conversion Stories, however, is upon the actual circumstances and decisions that resulted in a changed heart.Included in this collection are the dramatic conversion stories of: William Jennings Bryan, the American political leader; George Mueller, the orphanage founder; John Wesley, founder of the Methodist church; William Wilberforce, English social reformer and statesman; and Bill Stiles, the last of the Jesse James gang. SAMUEL FISK served as pastor of the First Baptist Church of Manila, Philippines, prior to World War II and later taught at John Brown University, Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary, and Western Baptist Bible College. He has written numerous books and articles and regularly contributed to The Biblical Evangelist. Mr. Fisk and his wife, Hilda, live in El Cerrito, California, where he devotes his time to research and writing. He is also the compiler of Forty Fascinating Conversion Stories.
