Probably no other violinist has a larger discography than Yehudi Menuhin. Yet we would be mistaken in imagining the recording industry fulfilled his every wish - which might explain why the artist produced this recording at his own expense. Surely Menuhin's intention was not only to document the happy years in Gstaad: he was aware that in 1976 he was at the height of his powers.
