Зostage stamp issued by Hungary in 1982. It commemorates the 55th anniversary of the Stamp Day, an annual event that celebrates the history and culture of philately in Hungary. The stamp features the artwork of Vertel József, a Hungarian graphic artist and stamp designer who was one of the most famous and prolific Hungarian stamp designers of the 20th century. The text lists the name of the country, the name of the artist, the name of the event, and the occasion of the stamp: the 10th anniversary of the European Security and Cooperation Conference.

The European Security and Cooperation Conference (ESCC) was a series of meetings that took place between 1972 and 1975 in Helsinki, Finland, and other European cities. The conference aimed to improve the relations between the Western and Eastern blocs during the Cold War, and to promote cooperation on security, human rights, economic, and cultural issues. The conference resulted in the signing of the Helsinki Final Act on August 1, 1975, by 35 countries, including Hungary. The act recognized the inviolability of borders, the respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, and the peaceful settlement of disputes. The act also established various follow-up mechanisms to monitor and implement its provisions1.
