Most of the pieces to be found here were not originally written for the clarinet. Their aim is to acquaint students, at he beginning of their studies, with the works of old masters. It is desirable that by gradually mastering the necessary technique, the students should develop the faculty for solo performance. These selected pieces give them initial help.

A gyűjtemény nagyobb része eredetileg nem klarinétra írt kompozíció. Célja, hogy a növendékek már tanulmányaik kezdetén megismerkedjenek a régi mesterek muzsikájával. Kívánatos, hogy a növendékek a technikai követelmények fokozatos elsajátításával az önálló előadás készségeit is kifejlesszék. Ehhez adnak kezdeti segítséget a kiválasztott darabok.
