Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea (French: Les Mondes Engloutis, "The Engulfed Worlds") is a French animated series that originally aired from 1985 to 1987. Created by Nina Wolmark, the series consists of 52 episodes, each ranging from 20 to 25 minutes in length, divided into two seasons of 26 episodes each.

The story is set in Arkadia, a civilization that has thrived underground since the Great Cataclysm. The Arkadians believed they were the last survivors of this devastation, living under the power of their sun, the Tehra. However, as their sun began to fail, the children of Arkadia broke the law and ventured into the forbidden Archives in search of a solution. Their discovery instilled hope, leading them to use their special powers to create a messenger named Arkana, who would reach out to the surface world.
