The Mad Adventures of Rabbi Jacob (French: Les Aventures de Rabbi Jacob, pronounced [lez‿avɑ̃tyʁ də ʁabi ʒakɔb]) is a 1973 French-Italian comedy film directed by Gérard Oury, starring Louis de Funès and Claude Giraud. The plot involves a bigoted businessman and a kidnapper who disguise themselves as rabbis to escape from a group of assassins. One of De Funès' most popular and iconic movies, it has become a cult classic.

Rabbi Jacob (Marcel Dalio) is one of the most loved rabbis of New York. One day, the French side of his family, the Schmolls, invite him to celebrate the bar mitzvah of the young David. Rabbi Jacob boards a plane to leave America for his birthland of France after more than 30 years of American life. His young friend Rabbi Samuel comes with him.

In Normandy, the rich businessman Victor Pivert (Louis de Funès) is also on his way; his daughter (Miou-Miou) will be married the next day. Pivert is a dreadful man: bad-tempered, rude and a bigot, with a well-honed racism against blacks, Jews, and pretty much all foreigners. He and his driver, Salomon (Henri Guybet), have a car accident in which Pivert's car (carrying a speed boat) flips upside-down into a lake. When Salomon, who is Jewish, refuses to help because Shabbat has just begun, Pivert fires him, much to Salomon's content.

Les Aventures de Rabbi Jacob est un film comique franco-italien sorti en 1973, réalisé par Gérard Oury, sur un scénario de celui-ci et Danièle Thompson, avec la collaboration du rabbin Josy Eisenberg, et de Roberto de Leonardis. Il marque la quatrième et dernière collaboration entre Gérard Oury et Louis de Funès, dont les ennuis de santé ne permettent pas la réalisation de leur projet suivant, Le Crocodile¹.

Louis de Funès campe Victor Pivert, un industriel français arriviste, cynique et autoritaire, empli de préjugés racistes, antisémites et xénophobes. Il ne demande qu’à se rendre au mariage de sa fille mais se retrouve englué malgré lui dans les péripéties d’une révolution dans un pays arabe menée par Mohamed Larbi Slimane. Poursuivis par les barbouzes du colonel Farès, ils débarquent au milieu d'une bar mitzva où Pivert, s'étant déguisé en rabbin, doit tenir un rôle central.

Victor Tukán nem az előítéletek embere. Legyen az ember színesbőrű, zsidó vagy arab, a francia gyárost mindez nem zavarja - egészen addig, amíg mindenki marad a saját hazájában. A sors azonban úgy hozza, hogy Victor, útban lánya esküvőjére, számtalan olyan kalandba keveredik, melyek megkérdőjelezik megrögzött előítéleteit. Először is megtudja, hogy hűséges sofőrje, Salamon valójában zsidó. Majd őt nézik négernek, amikor arca véletlenül bekormozódik. Mindezek tetejébe balesetet szenvednek, és amikor Victor segítséget próbál szerezni, egy arab fickóval hozza össze a sors, aki terroristák elől menekül. Egy hirtelen jött ötlettől vezérelve mindketten rabbinak öltöznek, s nem sokkal később egy zsidó családi ünnep kellős közepén találják magukat.
