Lavinia Meijer (born February 12, 1983) is a South Korean-born Dutch harpist. Her concerts have included a solo harp evening at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
Prize-winning harpist Lavinia Meijer s third CD for Channel Classics brings together popular Fantasies and Impromptus by Spohr, Fauré, Pierné, Saint-Saëns, Roussel and Glière. Added to these are world premiere recordings of works by two completely forgotten composers for the instrument, Johannes Snoer (1868-1936) and Gabriel Verdalle (1845-1912). Meijer s fluid technique and keen musicality are heard to great
effect here and Channel s superb multi-channel sonics add an unmatched level of clarity to the production.
