Overview

"L' Incorrigible," known in Hungarian as Javíthatatlan, is a 1975 French comedy directed by Philippe de Broca and starring Jean-Paul Belmondo, Geneviève Bujold, and Julien Guiomar. The film follows the story of Victor Vauthier, a charming rogue and mythomaniac who struggles to change his ways after being released from prison. His departure brings sadness to his former guards, who had grown fond of him during his three-month stay.

Upon his release, Victor quickly resumes his life of theft and deception. He must also report to his parole officer, Marie-Charlotte Pontalec, with whom he develops an immediate rapport. Despite their budding relationship, Victor, encouraged by his uncle Camille—a father figure to him—attempts to exploit his connection with Marie-Charlotte to steal a triptych by El Greco, which is housed in the Senlis Museum where Marie-Charlotte's father works. However, she soon uncovers Victor's scheme.
