雖然生命旅程結束,但他的音樂旅程並未受到影響,Jim Reeves的音樂作品於過世後仍持續熱賣,包括64年〈I Guess I’m Crazy〉、65年〈This Is It〉、〈Is It Really Over?〉、66年〈Blue Side Of Lonesome〉、〈Distant Drums〉、67年〈I Won’t Come In While He’s There〉都先後登上US冠軍,專輯在UK陸續出版亦有很好的成績,基本上是demo尚未完成的錄音作品在他去世後重新混音的〈Distant Drums〉更拿下了UK No.1!

Jim Reeves Jim Reeves can be said to be the most classic and best-sounding plus the most nostalgic country singer, his voice is low and thick, like the warmth of the sunshine, he was born in a big family of nine siblings, when he was five years old, he was gifted with the talent to play a guitar that came to him and began to dig up in 1955 or so, his voice and gentle songs represent the most authentic style of country songs in the United States. His voice and gentle songs represent the most authentic country style in the United States, and many of his songs are so beautiful and flavorful that his fans love him so much that they are guaranteed to never forget them!

Gentleman Jim Reeves is a country music legend who was born in a small Texas farming town and lived in poverty, taught himself guitar at the age of 6, and performed on a local radio station at the age of 9. In addition to music, his athletic prowess led him to join a baseball team as a starting catcher, but an injury ended his career. With his naturally emotive voice, he soon landed a job as a DJ on newscasts, performed in clubs, and had a few sporadic releases on local record labels. At the age of 27, he decided to change his life and moved to Louisiana, where he began to speak on the radio. In 1953, he released 'Mexican Joe', which not only reached the top of the country charts, but also stayed there for nine weeks! The next one, 'Bimbo', was also number one for three weeks! With the success of these two singles, Jim became an overnight sensation, and was picked up by RCA's Steve Sholes, who had signed Elvis Presley, and became one of the major players under Nashville Sound, which was a very reputable company in the world at that time.

With an emotive, smooth and effortless voice, and a blend of country and pop, this gentleman captivated audiences all over the world and rose to global prominence. Every album he released hit the charts immediately, with 'Four Walls' in '57, 'Billy Bayou' in '59, and 'He'll Have To Go' in '60 not only topping the country charts for 14 weeks, but also reaching #2 on the pop charts! The band set a record of 13 consecutive Top 20 singles on RCA! A European tour was launched, with sales in Australia and South Africa, and a starring role in the comedy 'Kimberly Jim' made him a famous South African movie star. 'I Love You Because' was released in Europe in '64, and sold so well in UK during the Beatles' era that a tour of England was planned, but never materialized. In '64, his private plane crashed, killing a generation of superstars. Despite the end of his journey, his musical journey has not been affected. Jim Reeves' music has continued to sell well after his death, including 'I Guess I'm Crazy' in '64, 'This Is It' and 'Is It Really Over? Lonesome', 'Distant Drums', 'I Won't Come In While He's There' in '67 all went to the top of the US charts, and the albums were released in the UK with good results, After his death, the remix of 〈Distant Drums〉, which was basically an unfinished demo, became UK No. 1!

Like Marilyn Monroe, Buddy Holly, James Dean, Elvis Presley and Jimi Hendris, Reeves has left a rich legacy in the entertainment industry. 1953-1984, even 20 years after Jim's death, he was still on the world's biggest charts, and was selected for the Country Music Chart in 1967. Selected for inclusion in the Country Music Hall Of Fame in 1967, the rich voice of international superstar Gentleman Jim Reeves led thousands of listeners around the world into the country world, and his influence and work will live on forever!
