Farmer fiával és feleségével él egy piciny farmon, napjait a földművelés tölti ki. Időközben a Királyságban sötét felhők gyülekeznek, egy gonosz mágus a király unokaöccse segítségével átvenni kívánja a hatalmat. Ezért a krúgok gyilkos és fosztogató seregét küldi a Királyság falvaira. Egy ilyen rajtaütés során Farmer fia is meghal, feleségének pedig nyoma veszik. A férfi útra kel, hogy megtalálja a nőt, akit szeret, s közben fogalma sincs róla, hogy mennyire fontos szerepe van a Királyság jövőjében.
