English:
Since its inception, the Góbé Band has set out to create programs based on the deep-rooted connection between folk and art music. Among its most celebrated initiatives is the “Bartók program,” which remains a staple in their repertoire. This release presents a unique compilation featuring 44 violin duos alongside their original folk sources—a collection never before heard in such a summarizing format. Drawing on an extraordinary amount of research and imaginative interpretation, these recordings merge traditionally vocal and solo instrumental performances with rich orchestral adaptations. The project highlights the diverse linguistic and national influences found in Hungarian, Slovak, Romanian, Ruthenian, Serbian, and Arabic melodies.
As explained on the cover notes, the 44 duos were designed with an educational mission in mind (much like Bartók’s original “For Children” series) so that young musicians can experience the pure, straightforward beauty and rhythmic distinctiveness of folk tunes. The pieces are arranged roughly by degree of difficulty—but when presented in concert, the order may be artistically re-arranged according to performance design.

A Góbé zenekar már megalakulásakor célul tűzte ki, hogy létrehozzon olyan műsorokat, amelyek alapját a népi és művészzenét összekötő kapcsolat képezi. Ezek közül a legmeghatározóbb és leggyakrabban játszott az ún. „Bartók-műsor”. Ebben a kiadványban 44 hegedűduó található, amelyek párhuzamba állítják az eredeti népdalforrásokat – olyan összefoglaló lemez, amely eddig ilyen formában nem jelent meg. A lemez egyedisége abban rejlik, hogy az alapvetően énekes és szóló hangszeres felvételek zenekari feldolgozásayant, rendkívüli kutatómunkára és képzelőerőre építve, gazdag, többnyelvű és nemzetiségi kincsanyagként jeleníti meg (magyar, szlovák, román, rutén, szerb és arab dallamok).
„A 44 hegedűduó ugyanolyan céllal készült, mint annak idején a Gyermekeknek c. sorozat: hadd jussanak a tanulók a tanulás első néhány évében olyan előadási művekhez, amelyekben a népi zene keresetlen egyszerűsége annak dallambeli és ritmusbeli különösségével együtt megvan……” – mondta Bartók. A darabok nehézségi fok szerint kerülnek kialakításra, bár koncertszerű előadásban a számtani sorrend helyett célszerű egy vagy több tervszerű sorozat összeállítása.
