The album "From Van to Yerevan" by Dengbêj Gazin and Minstrel Leyli, which is the product of the "Women Minstrels and Dengbêjs" project carried out by Anadolu Kültür within the scope of the Support Program for the Armenia-Turkey Normalization Process financed by the European Union, has been released under the label Kalan Music. The traditions of minstrelsy and dengbêj are still alive in Armenia and Turkey as genres of folk literature that have the characteristics of oral history. Trying to continue this tradition, two women, Dengbêj Gazin and Âşık Leyli, came together for the first time in Yerevan and Van, lamented in their own language with the same tunes and completed each other's sentences. 'Mayro' in Armenian became 'Mayrokê' in Kurdish, and 'Kuriko' in Armenian was 'Hoy Nar'... Dengbêj Gazin's psalms in which he tells the story of the abducted Armenian girl Gülizar, Âşık Leyli's feelings for Erzurum, where his family was deported, longing was articulated and met the audience with the album "From Van to Yerevan".

Avrupa Birliği tarafından finanse edilen Ermenistan-Türkiye Normalleşme Süreci Destek Programı kapsamında, Anadolu Kültür tarafından gerçekleştirilen "Kadın Âşık ve Dengbêjler” projesinin ürünü olan, Dengbêj Gazin ve Âşık Leyli’nin"Van’dan Yerevan’a” albümü Kalan Müzik etiketiyle yayınlandı. Âşıklık ve dengbêjlik gelenekleri, Ermenistan ve Türkiye'de sözlü tarih niteliği taşıyan halk edebiyatı türleri olarak hâlâ yaşatılmaktadır. Bu geleneği devam ettirmeye çalışan iki kadın, Dengbêj Gazin ile Âşık Leyli, ilk kez Erivan’da ve Van’da bir araya gelerek aynı ezgilerle kendi dillerinde ağıtlar yakıp birbirlerinin cümlelerini tamamladılar. Ermenice‘Mayro’, Kürtçede ‘Mayrokê’ oldu, Kürtçe ‘Kuriko’ ise Ermenicede‘Hoy Nar’... Dengbêj Gazin’in, kaçırılan Ermeni kızı Gülizar’ın hikâyesini anlattığı kılamlara, Âşık Leyli’nin ailesinin tehcir edildiği Erzurum’a duyduğu özlem eklemlendi ve "Van’dan Yerevan’a” albümüyle dinleyiciyle buluştu.
