Chormusik ist Vokalmusik, die als Chorlied von einem Chor gesungen wird. Chormusik kann einstimmig oder mehrstimmig sein, entweder mit instrumentaler Begleitung oder a cappella (ohne eigenständige Begleitung).
Chöre im heutigen Sinne, also große, oft mit Laien besetzte Gesangsgruppen, gibt es erst seit dem 19. Jahrhundert. Die vor dem Spätbarock entstandene Vokalmusik ist nach heutigen musikwissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen meist solistisch aufgeführt worden, sie gilt heute aber durch die spätere Aufführungstradition ebenfalls als „Chormusik“.
