Word for the road is a readable, clear and understandable translation of the Bible. He translates into contemporary modern Czech theological expressions and formulations that may be distant to today's people. It thus helps the reader to understand the ideas and meaning of the original biblical text.
It has gained great popularity not only among beginners, but also among experienced readers of the Bible. They appreciate that they can better read even longer sections at once and thus discover new connections. SNC is the Czech equivalent of the popular translations The Living Bible and Hoffnung für alle, or Good News Bible or Gute Nachricht Bibel.
The revised text of the New Testament was published in 2000. The translation of the Old Testament was gradually published in the edition of Próvodce život together with explanatory notes to the biblical text. Since 2010, the Slovo na cestu translation has been published in a new, modern graphic design, including world-famous illustrations by Annie Vallottonová.
The New Living Translation is one of the most widely used English Bible translations worldwide. The NLT was first published in 1996 and was last revised in 2015.
Both translations follow the common tradition of translating The Living Bible and strive for simpler vocabulary and greater clarity, rather than literalism. The reader is thus guided not to compare individual words, but to delve into longer passages of the biblical text. The conversation between the two translations can thus be an interesting invitation for the reader not only to the world of English, but also to the world of interpreting the biblical message.

Revidovaný text Nového zákona vyšel v roce 2000. Překlad Starého zákona vycházel postupně v edici Průvodce životem spolu s výkladovými poznámkami k biblickému textu. Od roku 2010 vychází překlad Slovo na cestu v nové moderní grafické úpravě včetně světově proslulých ilustrací od Annie Vallottonové.
New Living Translation je jeden z celosvětově nejpoužívanějších anglických překladů Bible. NLT poprvé vyšlo v roce 1996, jeho poslední revize je z roku 2015.
Oba překlady vycházejí ze společné tradice překladu The Living Bible a usilují o jednodušší slovní zásobu a velkou srozumitelnost, spíše než o doslovnost. Čtenář je tak veden k tomu, aby neporovnával jednotlivá slovíčka, ale ponořil se do delších pasáží biblického textu. Rozhovor obou překladů tak může být pro čtenáře zajímavým pozváním nejen do světa angličtiny, ale i do světa interpretace biblického poselství.
