A három tételes kompozíció a klasszikus hagyományokat követi, de az első tétel a szkrjabini szonátaforma továbbfejlesztését valósítja meg két gyors tétel összeolvasztásával. A második tételben a lírai anyag mellett egy mély, negatív erő jelenik meg, amelyet egy modális skálákból származó, tömbszerű, átszellemült közösségi ének drámai harcban győz le.
