Conductor, virtuoso pianist and composer Ernst von Dohnányi (1877-1960) was a foremost musical figure during the first decades of the 20th c. His compositions encompass orchestral, chamber and solo piano works, many of which he performed and recorded himself. An involving and insightful performer, American pianist, Ms. Terry Eder studied 20th c. piano music by Hungarian composers while in residence at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. Her 2004 Weill Recital Hall NY début was much praised.
Pianist Terry Eder, who recently appeared with the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, brings expressive insight and refined keyboard expression to these appealing solo piano pieces by the great (though neglected) Ernö von Dohnányi. The album includes Dohnanyi's sparkling arrangement of Schubert's 12 Valses Nobles, Op. 77 as well as Dohnanyi's early Klavierstucke, Op. 2, which show the influences of Schubert as well as Brahms. - Greg La Traille, ArkivMusic
"Eder has earned our appreciation for this perceptive and loving Dohnanyi recital". American Record Guide, May-June 2013
