Catheline Périer D'leteren is a professor of art history at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. For many years she has organized and raken part in symposia, commissions and exhibitions in her specialist fields, the conservation of the international artistic heritage and the study of Old Masters using modern scientific methods. She has published widely in Belgium and abroad on Netherlandish painting and sculpture of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Her books include Les volets peints des retables bruxellois conservés en Suède (1984), Colyn de Coter et la teclmique picturale des peintres flamands du XV siècle (1985) and Restoration in Belgium from 1830 to the present (1991).
