This DVD presents two films by renowned director Christopher Nupen, showcasing the extraordinary talents of pianist Daniil Trifonov, one of the most celebrated pianists of his generation. In The Magics of Music, the portrait film provides a close, intimate look at Trifonov’s life, philosophy, and artistic journey. The documentary includes live performances where cameras capture him from up close, enhancing the emotional and technical power of his artistry. Pieces by ChopinRavel, and a portion of Trifonov's own Piano Concerto are included, recorded during the world premiere performance in Cleveland, 2014.

The Castelfranco Veneto Recital showcases Trifonov's breathtaking virtuosity in a full recital, filmed at the Teatro Accademico in Castelfranco Veneto, near Venice. Here, Trifonov performs works by ChopinScriabinRachmaninov, and Johann Strauss, including a rare performance of Rachmaninov’s Variations on a Theme of Chopin.
