A Magyar Tudományos Akadémián 2012 óta működő Lendület Szent Korona Kutatócsoport legújabb kiadványa a magyar uralkodókoronázásokra 1508 és 1916 között kibocsátott koronázási érmeket és zsetonokat mutatja be. A Magyar Nemzeti Múzeummal közös kiadásban, több mint 400 oldalon megjelenő katalógus közel ezer, színes illusztrációval páratlan betekintést kínál mind király- és királyné-koronázásaink történetébe, mind az azokra készült érmek különleges kincsestárába. A kötetben megtalálhatók egyedülálló példányok, köztük a felajánlási érmek – melyeket a megkoronázott uralkodó a koronázási mise felajánlási szakaszában az oltárra helyezett – továbbá a koronázási menet során nép közé szórt arany-, ezüst- vagy rézzsetonok. Az intenzív, fél évtizedes múzeumi és levéltári kutatás eredményeként összeállított vállalkozás a késő középkori, Székesfehérvárott kezdődött, majd 1563-tól Pozsonyban, 1622-től részben Sopronban, végül 1792-től Budán tartott koronázások érmeit veszi számba, összesen 24 király, királynő és egyéb koronázási szertartás nyomán kibocsátott numizmatikai emlékanyagot. Az 1916 végi utolsó magyar koronázás centenáriuma alkalmából megjelent kötet nemcsak a pénz- és éremgyűjtőknek, hanem az újkori történelem és a Szent Korona iránt érdeklődőknek is ajánlott olvasmány.

The latest publication of the Lendület Szent Korona Research Group, active at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 2012, presents the coronation medals and tokens issued for Hungarian monarchs between 1508 and 1916. In collaboration with the Hungarian National Museum, this catalog, spanning over 400 pages and featuring nearly a thousand full-color illustrations, offers an unparalleled insight into the history of royal coronations and the unique treasure trove of medals produced for these ceremonies. Unique items are showcased, including one-of-a-kind offering medals—placed on the altar during the coronation Mass by the newly crowned monarch—as well as gold, silver, or copper tokens distributed among the people during the coronation procession. Resulting from intensive museum and archival research over half a decade, the project catalogs numismatic commemorations connected to the coronations held initially in Székesfehérvár, later in Pressburg (from 1563), partly in Sopron (from 1622), and finally partly in Buda (from 1792), covering a total of 24 ceremonies for kings, queens, and consorts.
