Christine is a 1958 French period drama film, based on the play Liebelei by Arthur Schnitzler. The film was directed by Pierre Gaspard-Huit and the title character was played by Romy Schneider. The cast included Alain Delon as a young lieutenant.

In 1906 Vienna, a young lieutenant Franz (Alain Delon) has an affair with a married baroness, Lena, but decides to put an end to it when he meets Christine (Romy Schneider), a musician's daughter.

Christine is almost engaged to a composer, Binder. But she falls in love with Franz. Franz breaks it off with Lena but Lena's husband, the Baron Eggesdorf, has discovered about the affair.

Vienne, 1906. La baronne Lena Eggersdorf entretient depuis un an une liaison avec le jeune et séduisant Franz Lobheiner. Celui-ci voudrait rompre mais ne sait comment s'y prendre. Un soir, son meilleur ami et confident, le lieutenant Théo Kaiser, l'entraîne au fameux «Grinzing», et lui présente deux charmantes jeunes filles : l'une brune et malicieuse, prénommée Mizzie¹ et l'autre blonde et secrète, Christine. Un flirt s'ébauche entre Mizzie et Théo tandis que Christine et Franz, intimidés, restent face à face sans oser se regarder. En raccompagnant Christine chez elle, Franz apprend qu'elle est la fille d'un musicien de l'Opéra, M. Weiring, et qu'elle est presque fiancée à un compositeur fade et ridicule...
