It is 1913 and the opening night of Igor Stravinsky's anticipated The Rite of Spring. All the Parisian glitterati are in attendance, including the ever-chic Coco Chanel. Seven years on, Coco meets Igor and the attraction is electric. She invites him and his family to move into her country villa, and while he composes, she sets out to create the now-sigratory perfume No. 5.
Led by Chanel model Anna Mouglalis (Gainsbourg) and Danish superstar and Bond villain Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale, Quanturn of Solace), this film captures the era perfectly. bringing with it a sense of history, intrigue, mystery, radicalism and passion.
