Snatch is a 2000 crime comedy film written and directed by Guy Ritchie, featuring an ensemble cast. Set in the London criminal underworld, the film contains two intertwined plots: one dealing with the search for a stolen diamond, the other with a small-time boxing promoter (Jason Statham) who finds himself under the thumb of a ruthless gangster (Alan Ford) who is ready and willing to have his subordinates carry out severe and sadistic acts of violence.
London nem a csendes arisztokraták és a nyugodt komornyikok városa. Rablók, szélhámosok, ravaszkodo kettős és hármas ügynökök, hamiskártyások és disznótenyésztők népesítik be. Legalább is ez a benyomása Négyujjú Franknek (a 2001-ben Oscar-díjat nyert Benicio Del Toro -Traffic), aki egy fopott gyémánt kézbesítése közben átmenetileg itt pihen meg. Ugyanis találkozik Penge Borisszal, aki ráveszi, fogadjon egy illegális bokszmeccsen. A kő elúszik, és örvény támad a nyomában: méghozzá olyan, ami felforgatja az egész londoni alvilágot. Színre lép Mickey (Brad Pitt - 12 majom), az ir roma bunyós, néhány ortodox zsidó gyémánt- csempész, pár mindenre kész bérgyilkos és társaik. Mindannyian az eljátszott gyémántot akarják, az pedig fel-feltűnik, majd újra alámerül a számtalan egymást keresztező érdek, tengernyi blöff, hazugság és csapda forgatagában. Ahogy a szálak összekuszá- lódnak, kutyák, gyémántok, cigánykaravánok, nehézliük és fegyverek kavarognak a zűrzavaros csetepatéban.
