Overview

باران یک فیلم ایرانی تأثیرگذار از مجید مجیدی است که در سال ۲۰۰۱ ساخته شده و بر اساس فیلمنامه‌ای از خود کارگردان است. این فیلم به زندگی پناهندگان افغان که در حاشیه تهران زندگی می‌کنند، پرداخته و مبارزات و مقاومت آنها در برابر سختی‌ها را به تصویر می‌کشد.

داستان در یک زمستان سخت رخ می‌دهد و پیرامون لطیف (حسین عبدی‌نی)، یک کارگر ۱۷ ساله در یک سایت ساختمانی تحت مدیریت معمار (محمد امیر ناصی) می‌چرخد. لطیف چای می‌آورد و برای کارگران غذا می‌پزد که این اغلب به مشاجرات منتهی می‌شود. در میان این کارگران، پناهندگان افغان وجود دارند که به‌طور غیرقانونی مشغول به کار هستند و بدون کارت شناسایی زندگی می‌کنند.

داستان پیچیده‌تر می‌شود زمانی که یک کارگر افغان به نام نجف زخمی می‌شود و پسرش، رحمت (زهرا بهرامی)، جای او را می‌گیرد. ابتدا لطیف از رحمت بیزار است اما به زودی متوجه می‌شود که رحمت در واقع دختری است که به‌عنوان پسر برای کار disguised شده است. این کشف باعث می‌شود که لطیف با احساسات خود و هنجارهای اجتماعی مربوط به نقش‌های جنسیتی و هویت مواجه شود.
