"Balázs Árpád: Négy kép" című szvit egyesíti a kórus- és fúvószenekari művészet stílusjegyeit – pontosan azt a területet, amelyen Balázs Árpád zeneszerzés-tanárai (Farkas Ferenc, Aram Hacsaturján és Goffredo Petrassi) jósolták tehetségének kibontakozását. Ebben a műben a fúvós hangszerek is énekelnek! A szvit négy karakterdarabból áll:

Induló: A mű nyitótétele, harsányan jókedvű és lendületes, 6/8-os lüktetéssel, mely könnyed hangulatot áraszt, hasonlóan Prokofjev balettmuzsikájához.
Cantilena: Egy nagyívű, lírai második tétel.
Arietta: Egy kissé mozgalmasabb, de ugyanolyan lírai harmadik tétel.
Játék: A zárótétel, melyben az egymással párhuzamosan mozgó, majd ütköző vonalak hatásának közvetítése technikailag igényes, de megéri a fáradságot.
