Foreword

The lives and activities of famous commanders and leaders, who played an important role in the socio-political and cultural life of Central Asia, have been preserved in various written sources left to us by our ancestors. One of such great personalities is our compatriot Bahodir Yalangtush, who came to the Zarafshan oasis after Amir Temur and became the governor of Samarkand in the 17th century. After Mirzo Ulugbek, Bahodir Yalangtush carried out large-scale landscaping works in Samarkand.
Sherdor and Tillakori madarssahs were built in Registan Square, Nadir Devonbegi madrassah and many bridges were built near Khoja Ahrori Vali mausoleum, Siyob market was moved to its current location and a caravanserai and trade rastas (shops) were built built next to it.
