This Medici Arts DVD presents a special 60th anniversary concert of the RIAS Kammerchor, recorded live on 3 October 2008 at Berlin’s Gethsemanekirche during the Day of German Unity celebrations. Conducted by Hans-Christoph Rademann, this performance includes some of Johann Sebastian Bach’s most beloved motets interspersed with sinfonias from his cantatas, performed by the renowned Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin.
The RIAS Kammerchor, founded in 1948, is considered one of the world’s premier choral ensembles, and this concert captures the choir at the height of its artistry, under its new chief conductor.
