Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli (Italian: [arˈtuːro beneˈdetti mikeˈlandʒeli]; 5 January 1920 – 12 June 1995) was an Italian classical pianist. He is considered one of the greatest pianists of the twentieth century. The perfection of his art is recognised by every critic. The harmony and the composure of his executions are proverbial and the sound research is brought at the highest levels. His importance in piano history is comparable to that of other great perfomers like Emil Gilels, Vladimir Horowitz, Sviatoslav Richter, Artur Rubinstein and Glenn Gould
